LEGENDARY CHICAGO MIXSHOW DJ CREW MASTERMIX 6 REUNITES!

Formed in the heady early days of the burgeoning house music scene in Chicago is the 80’s, the Mastermix 6 emerged on powerhouse radio station WGCI. Comprised originally of master mixers Carlos Valderrama, Jam Master Jay, Matt Warren, Fast Eddie, Mario Diaz, and Jeff Anthony, this powerhouse sextet garnered a huge following immediately upon launching in 1985. Through their trailblazing mix shows on WGCI, they played a vital role in introducing Chicago to dance music worldwide through their acclaimed custom mixes.

By 1989 DJ Jorge Suarez was added to the team as they would continue their run at live events, clubs, and radio shows in other cities. Eventually members of the Mixmaster 6 would expand their individual roles creating their own record labels, music production studios, retail, and a myriad other opportunities.

Now in 2018 the Mastermix 6 have reunited to once again remind Chicago and the world that house music had a much bigger involvement in Chicago than what is being shared and recognized. Original members Jorge Suarez, Carlos Valderrama, Jam Master Jay, and Matt Warren are joined by veteran’s Mario Reyes and Tony Cano offering their many years of trailblazing experience to a new generation of dance music enthusiasts.
